Even earlier

I’d only been in bed about four hours when Lindsey woke up at 3AM. And she was wide awake – the result of having fallen asleep on the couch in front of the TV. So, just like old days with Adam, it was downstairs to get her some breakfast and let her watch cartoons, while I propped my eyes open and started in on work.

If I had to have an excessively long day, this was the day to do it, because the work was piled up pretty high. Most of my time went for helping get one big application ready for demo (and then launch), but a few others needed some attention as well.

Dana took the kids out to CMOE, so at least I had a few hours of peace and quiet while I moved through things late in the morning and early in the afternoon. I had planned on a nap, but just couldn’t fit one in. Somewhere in there I also spent a bunch of time working on Lindsey’s computer to remove the virus it had picked up; eventually I succeeded, but it was a long struggle forcing me at one point to have to figure out whether I had enough PC hardware still to get a disk driver on to a diskette (I did, but only barely).

I took a break at dinner time and made sloppy joes, salad, and peaches. Another easy and crowd-pleasing meal. After dinner, kept writing code for a while – I tried to wind down a bit early, but ended up having another client on instant messenger who wanted to chat about next steps for their project, so that didn’t happen either. At least Lindsey had a nap today, so hopefully her schedule will reset.
