Swings

I was up too early this morning, but then, so was Thomas. He certainly hasn’t developed the habit of sleeping in on weekends. After the whole family was up and fed, I headed out to our local Lowe’s and bought some tomato and pepper plants. They’re now in the front raised beds, waiting to actually go into the ground. But today there were other projects for me besides planting (Dana did manage to get a bunch of flowers into the ground). Notable among these was getting the swingset portion of the kids’ play structure built. This did require one more trip to the hardware store (for some replacement nuts and bolts) and some help from Dana to steady things while I lifted the main beam into place, but it got done.

The kids spent a lot of time playing outside which was, after all, the point.

For dinner I made fried chicken strips, baked beans, cheese sticks, and rice. All of this pretty well appealed to everyone, especially after an afternoon of play, so plates got empty.

In between yard and food I was writing code – mainly javascript and CSS. The big feature I’ve been working on all week is finally coming together.
