Banks Suck
Today started off with another round of early email. By the time that was done and management tasks were lined up for the day, it was time to take our youngest off to camp. From there, I stopped at the hardware store and picked up a few things, and then visited our bank.
The bank visit left me livid. I’d stopped to order a wire transfer; I left without sending the wire, and with $14000 in funds frozen in our account “because we can.” Yes, the account rules say large checks can take a week to clear, but the account manager chose to exercise this in a completely arbitrary and capricious manner, and I’m furious about it. As soon as the funds are unfrozen, they’re coming out of there; I’m going to spend part of next week shopping banks.
Dana and Darby took the kids out to CMOE for lunch and playtime. I had some lunch and a beer while they were gone, and eventually calmed down enough to get to work. The afternoon was for writing code (and, miraculously, only a few phone calls).
I made beefaroni style stew for dinner, and then just relaxed as best I could until bedtime.
