Father's Day

Father’s Day started out much like any other day around here; it’s hard to get breakfast in bed when you’re the first one up. Eventually the kids delivered hand-made cards and hugs, though, which was plenty to keep me happy.

There was plenty of work to keep me busy, too. I spent most of today in project management mode, rearranging work schedules and figuring out where the blockages were on a couple of projects. There was a break in there somewhere to harvest the last of the garlic. The softneck did much better than the hardneck for some reason this year.

In the afternoon I took a quick trip to the grocery store, and then made myself ceviche and gazpacho for dinner. The rest of the family had burgers and fruit.

The evening wound down, as evenings do, and we had another chapter of Oz and then bedtime.
