Biology Class

The big homeschool news of the morning is that Adam is starting in on a biology class just for him. This will be the first time we’ve expected him to self-motivate and do mainly reading and writing for a class, as opposed to interacting with parents/teachers continuously. I set up a wiki for him to track his assignments, which went over well with him too. After one day he pronounced it the best class ever, though he’s somewhat prone to exaggeration.

Kayla on the other hand didn’t do so great with schoolwork today. She was distractable and dragged her feet and as a result spent the whole day until dinner on it. Dunno why – that’s not usual for her.

Meanwhile, I was going through a typical Monday, trying to write some code and move some things off the to-do list while dealing with clients and their crises. Things stayed together OK, but it was definitely a juggling act and a relatively unproductive day. I did manage to spend my few minutes out weeding in the garden. At 5PM I took Kayla to her tumbling class and brought all the other kids along to play, since mom had to go to a Girl Scout leaders’ meeting. The kids and I had pizza afterwards.
