A Bit of Outside

Even though it was a weekend day, it was a busy one. Somehow it seems that life gets even fuller in the spring, and it’s definitely spring outside now, with shirtsleeve temperatures and kids wanting to spend time out in the yard (which we, of course, are happy to encourage).

I spent a bit of time outside myself today, spreading compost on part of the back garden. I’m slowly getting the weeds out and the dead parts trimmed off of various plants as well. The rosemary may not have wintered over, but it looks like the rest of the herbs are starting to come back to do battle with the weeds.

There was also some time helping Adam work on his Pinewood Derby car. He’s most interested in the color scheme (and fortunately has a simple one in mind) but we’re trying to at least make a stab at having something that will go reasonably fast.

Of course I also spent a good deal of time at the computer tying to get ahead of various clients before Monday arrives. A couple of them were online adding additional work even as I was knocking off to-do items, so I’m not sure I made much progress overall, but I tried.

Dinner was grilled chicken breasts, noodles, and peas, as well as salads. After dinner, Dana went out to a movie and kids chased each other around while I tried to get things organized for the coming week.
