Out with Small Kids

I threw smaller kids into the bathtub after they’d had breakfast today, and then did some light morning schoolwork with them. After that, the three of us were out the door in the van. It was time once again for Thomas’s weekly sports class at the Y, and now we’ve registered Lindsey for it as well. With both of them in class, I was free to sit on the sidelines with my laptop while they played soccer (or what passes for soccer with a bunch of preschoolers) and work on web site design.

After we got done with that, the three of us did the grocery shopping for the week, getting home at lunchtime. I checked my email and then it was time for a client phone call. No sooner did I hang up from that then the phone rang again, a call from a potential new client, and we chatted for quite a while. It ended up being 2PM before I got lunch.

Then I coded for the rest of the day, with a break to feed the kids grilled-cheese sandwiches (Dana was off to karate tonight). I put the kids to bed at their usual hour and had planned to be up late deploying new code to a server. However, that server foiled me by crashing before I touched it, and it needs to be restarted by a contractor in Scotland, so I went to bed to catch a few winks first.
