Dead Server

The first part of the morning went fine today, with the kids getting through schoolwork, and me wandering through email and starting in on some code. After that things went a little sour, though, as we discovered that a server that we had a client site on had been hacked and wiped out overnight.

Dana took care of reviving the dead server while I tried to keep up with other client questions and interruptions. This got us through into the early afternoon, when I just started feeling overloaded – there were too many Skype chats and emails for me to get any traction at all on the code I was trying to write. Finally I just shut down the box I use for chat and retreated a bit so I could finish some things up. This helped.

Dana was off to karate, and I served the kids hot dogs and texas toast and pears for dinner, which they all liked. I plugged back into the universe and caught up before bedtime, but that two hour vacation was definitely worth it.
