Snow Again

It snowed about 4 inches overnight, and the kids were all happy to see it. Me, not so much; I’m pretty well over snow these days. I didn’t have to go out in it very much, at least, since we had no running around at all to do today.

Most of my day went for writing code again. There’ s still plenty of work to be done this month, though as usual I don’t know where next month’s paycheck is coming from.

After lunch, kids had a chance to go out and play in the snow. Lindsey and Thomas bundled up and spent an hour or so playing with the neighbor boy; our older kids opted to stay in where it was warm. Dana shoveled our sidewalk (a task which, unfortunately, I am still not up to) and I cleaned up and warmed up little kids when they’d had enough snow.

Dinner tonight was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad and wax beans. It turned out well if you don’t count the small grease fire I managed to make on top of the stove.

Thomas has decided he’d rather stay in his room and read to himself while I’m reading Oz books to the others. He may be the first of our kids to give up on being read to at bedtime. He told me that he was going to come back to the joint reading tomorrow though.
