Hard Drive Down
Today was a federal and state holiday, but that didn’t make it any easier to get through. Somehow Mondays seem to get tougher every week. This one started off with Adam getting up and being impossibly rude, and it took us a couple of hours to work through that and get schoolwork started.
Eventually everyone was taught something, and I was able to turn to client issues. This included failing data in one project, a deployment in another, and trying to move code forward on a couple of others. With heavy deadlines this week, I’m feeling quite behind even though most of the work is actually going well. There was also an hour out in the middle of the day for another sales call, which quite ruined my momentum.
The kids went out to the movies this afternoon with one of Dana’s karate friends, and by all accounts they enjoyed themselves. After they were all home, we had chicken, rice, corn, and salad for dinner. After dinner, I had the fun of dealing with a failed hard drive in the Mac Pro. Fortunately all the data is backed up multiple ways, so this was a nuisance rather than a disaster.
I went later than usual with work due to working with another consultant on some data imports. We finally knocked off around 10PM, and I got in a bit of exercise before fitful sleep.
