New Mac
Sleep was pretty broken up last night; I was up in the middle of the night for half an hour to start another data import, and then again around 5AM to rally the troops and move forward on the client demo. Things actually came together fairly well, and overall I was happy at my subcontractors’ ability to react to a sudden change. I sure wouldn’t want to do this every day though.
We had a no-school day today due to doctor’s appointment, which happened right after lunch. Kayla, Thomas, and Lindsey all needed shots today. Kayla screamed bloody murder (and later allowed as how it hadn’t really hurt all that much), Thomas came out with a simple “ow,” and Lindsey was somewhere in between. Afterwards we stopped and got everyone candy and picked up the mail and came home.
Today’s mail included computer bits: a new Mac Pro for Kayla, a new keyboard for me. So much of the day went for setting those up, introducing her to chat and other fun of OS X, and troubleshooting. Kayla’s old computer came down to Lindsey and one more Windows box was retired.
Somewhere in there I touched base on another couple of client projects, but I was pretty brain tired by dinner time and so relaxed a bit and put things off for tomorrow. Dana was off to karate for dinner, and the kids had pizza (I had sauteed scallops over polenta, a meal that only I would eat).
Bedtime and a tiny bit of exercising came in due course, followed by crashing hard.
