Just Keeping On
And the first day of 2010 was much like the last day of 2009 – sitting at my desk, writing code, and trying to figure out software problems.
The kids were happy to discover that today was a school holiday. Dana took a holiday as well, going out shopping and relaxing. And honestly I didn’t work all that hard myself, though I did manage to clock six hours or so of paying work.
All in all it was a fairly quiet day. Kids slept in, especially the ones who’d been up till midnight. I made it through without a nap myself, though I’m still tireder than I ought to be.
For dinner, I made ham and cheese croissants, baked potatoes, and green beans. Kids seemed to like this well enough. I skipped my bedtime tramadol, because the pain is still pretty mild and I’ve had enough of thees damned drugs to last me for a while. This left me sniffly from withdrawal as I was reading bedtime stories (we started THE MAGICAL MONARCH OF MO tonight) but hopefully I’ll get by that fast enough.
