Zoo Day
I was up at 4AM today because I knew I had to get some work done first-thing, and I did. By a bit after 8 a report was winging its electronic way to one of our clients, as promised. So, KGN continues to hit all of its deadlines and targets perfectly.
After that, I drove Thomas to zoo camp and did the grocery shopping on the way hom. Got everything put away, had just time to read email, and then it was back out the door with the whole family headed for the zoo once again.
We got there, strolled through, and watched Thomas’s camp group present a puppet show for the assembled and delighted parents. Then there was a few moments of zoo visit, including a chance for the kids to pet alligators and snakes. We tried to get lunch at the zoo, but that was a dismal failure – apparently the plans to revamp the food service have not yet materialized. So we stopped on the way home and got the kids Burger King instead.
I finally got a chance to write some code in the afternoon, fixing a few bugs on a site that’s out there.
For dinner, we had sweet-and-sour ham, brown rice, salad, and corn on the cob. Thomas had a short nap while the rest of us were eating, then polished off all his food, dessert, and a big bowl of brown rice for an extra.
Got kids to bed, tried to ignore stupid fireworks, went to bed myself. We finished the second Oz book tonight; kids are still enjoying.
