Strawberries

Another 5AM day; I seem to be cycling back to earlier start times.

We had a field trip instead of formal schoolwork this morning – loaded the kids into the car and headed down to the local u-pick farm, where the strawberries are in season. The kids had fun wandering up one row and down the other, and the farm did fine because quality control isn’t high in that age group and they sold a bunch of strawberries that no one else would have picked.

We also picked up a couple of fresh tomatoes, leading to BLTs for lunch for Dana and myself.

The afternoon was largely devoted to client work, with a round of bug-fixing on one application and then switching servers on another. The latter hit a slight roadblock when a DNS update went bad, but overall it was pretty smooth.

I also got some work done on the ebook I’m writing.

For dinner, we cleaned out the leftovers. After dinner it ended up being one of those nights that I just needed a break, so after making sure there were no disasters in my email I read until bedtime.
