Sales Day
In some ways it was a typical Monday – I got very little code written. But on the plus side, a lot of the flurry of activity for this week was in sales calls. I landed one new contract for ActionRails, and got a line on a couple of others. Hopefully this means that the work drought from the last few months is coming to an end.
Thomas was off to half-day zoo camp today; Dana drove him in, worked at Denny’s, and picked him up later. Meanwhile, the rest of the kids and I made “candy sushi” out of rolled-up rice krispies treats, gummi worms, twizzlers, and fruit rollups. They had a lot of fun and munched on the results, though I suspect a lot of it will ultimately go to waste.
I spent a little bit of my day preparing the rush code review that ActionRails did over the weekend for our client to look at, and a little writing code for the application that’s supposed to deploy tomorrow. I also spent some more time on the main RailsBridge site, which is tantalizingly close to deployment.
For dinner, we had baked chicken with rice, salad, and corn. Most of the kids ate pretty well, though it was a fairly lackluster meal.
After dinner, the kids played in the front for a bit while I watered the veggie garden (what there is of it – garlic, okra, and beans appear to be our main successes for the year).
