Pro Bono Day

Started with my usual early bird day, and after the kids were fed I settled down to write some code. In fact, I spent most of the day just writing code, which was nice – no client pressure, no distractions, just working on a project for RailsBridge.

I did sneak in a few other odds and ends – some PM work, a bit of revision on the ebook – but on the whole, it was a relaxed (and unbillable) day. Have to get back to the grind tomorrow.

I also got out of the house for a while with no kids and went grocery shopping. Nothing out of the ordinary about that, except that the grocery store is of course much more crowded on Saturday afternoon than on Thursday morning when I usually go. I shouldn’t miss my regular shopping day, I guess.

We had salmon, rolls, salad, and green beans for dinner – the green beans being out of our own garden. I also went out after dinner and harvested about half of the garlic, which is definitely ready to cure and then eat.
