Still Busy

Up at 4:30 to write some code that was trying to get out of my head. We’re doing a major refactoring on one of our jobs, and much of today went for bringing the proof of concept together.

After a couple hours of this, the kids were all awake and we switched over to school mode. This kept the kids going till lunch; I snuck off halfway through when they started classes with mom and did a spot of grocery shopping to restock on perishables.

The biggest chunk of the day went for coding, though I also worked a bit on marketing for the ebook and brushing up its web site. For dinner, we had cornish game hens, corn, and rice, to the kids’ delight; Lindsey in particular polished off an amazing amount of food (more than I did, for starters).

After dinner, I went outside and spent a bit of time spraying down the roses that have gotten another round of Japanese beetles. The more I use them, the less happy I am with the hidden hose bibs that our irrigation contractor put in, but overall they did a good job so that’s just kvetching.

Deployed customer code to a staging site, put the kids to bed, came back to do a bit of project management work and the dishes and some exercising before I finally plopped myself into bed around 11.
