Typical Monday

I just beat Thomas out of bed at 6AM. This was another “back to school” day for us, and it went pretty smoothly. I was especially happy that Thomas seems to have retained all of his phonics even after a break of a week, and was ready for more. Schoolwork took most of the morning, and writing ate up the rest. It being Monday, I didn’t plan on getting a lot of billable hours in, and I wasn’t disappointed. I did write some code and talk to one of my clients on the phone for a bit.

I also spent a lot of time setting up monitoring on a few servers and otherwise trying to make the hosting-related portion of our business run a bit more smoothly.

For dinner, I made spaghetti with Alfredo sauce, garlic bread, fruit and salad. The salad was from our own little garden plot.

After dinner, I tried the experiment of telling kids I wasn’t going to wait on them for a whole hour. This was tedious; they must have asked 30 times for me to get up and get them something.

Eventually, it was time to put kids in bed, do my exercises, and relax myself.
