Lazy Sort of Day

Thomas got me up around 5:45 this morning and had another fussy morning. He seems to be going through a fussy phase lately. Hopefully he’ll grow out of it. I spent the morning knocking a bunch of miscellaneous little stuff off of my burgeoning task list – mostly server-side system administration tasks on various systems. The number of servers we’re running elsewhere just keeps going up, it seems – though I do have plans to retire several of them this year.

Meanwhile, Dana was off to karate. After karate, she brought home our friend Tiffany for another overnight stay, giving the kids someone new to harass for a bit.

I took a good chunk of the afternoon for some lawnmowing. That filled up the second composter nicely. The first one is cooking down pretty well now; I’m hoping it’s ready to spread by the end of the month.

For dinner, I barbecued a pork loin (and overcooked it) and served with mashed potatoes and corn. The barbecue sauce did an OK job of masking the fact that the meat was kind of dried out.

Wrote code after dinner until it was time to put the kids to bed. Then Dana and Tiffany went out to a movie, I did some weightlifting, and it was night-night time for me as well.
