Happy 4th
I slept in til 5:30 this morning, after an uneventful night (for a change). Adam was still feeling a bit under the weather, so he stayed home and I drove Kayla to the last day of zoo camp herself. I stopped at Lowe’s on the way home, intending to talk to someone about having a patio set delivered. However, even though it was open apparently customer service was on holiday; I was unable to attract the attention of anyone working there. I’ll have to just go back with the pickup truck myself.
Back home, it was another day of writing code for me. I finally got the big feature I’ve been working on close enough to finished to push it into the repository for other devs to gnaw on, which was good.
For dinner, I grilled some hot dogs and served them with Texas Toast and baked beans. Kids were still picking at dinner rather than really eating, but Thomas at least finished his.
After dinner, we let the kids stay up a bit late to watch fireworks. This neighborhood proves to be full of yahoos who like to shoot them off from the back yard, so there was plenty enough for them to see. Dana took them out for a walk while I stayed in and lifted a few weights.
