Snapper Dinner

Today was looking like a busy one from the get-go, so I went easy on the kids for morning schoolwork. They were happy enough about this. Then I did my first bit of writing for the day and headed out to do the grocery shopping for the week. Reasonably early mornings are definitely the best time at our grocery store; fresh stock is out and the place isn’t crowded yet. I brought home enough food for this bunch of wild animals, and then spent the rest of the morning writing, with a side trip to fix a sudden bug appearance on a deployed application.

The afternoon went for a reasonably heavy spate of coding, implementing a chunk of functionality for my current major client.

For dinner, we had baked red snapper, shrimp and scallops (the extra meat since our store only had the one good-sized snapper), rice, salad, and green beans. I thought the snapper was a nice change, and the younger kids ate well. Adam and Dana weren’t so hot on fish that actually tasted like fish.

After dinner, Dana took the bulk of the kids out to do some birthday shopping for Kayla. I worked on getting a major collaborative post ready for WWD, put kids to bed when they got home, and then worked out for a bit before bedtime. I also spent a little time buffing up my LinkedIn profile; perhaps a futile activity, but I’m still hunting more work.
