Splashin' Safari
I was up around 5AM, and spent the early part of the morning getting some writing done and sneaking in a bit of coding. Kids got up over the next few hours and gradually worked themselves into a state of excitement. The excitement was because today was a day off from school for a visit to Splashin’ Safari, the local waterpark. Personally, I would sooner just set fire to a handful of $20 bills and call it a day, but the kids enjoyed themselves even though it works out to be pretty high-priced fun.
We stayed at the waterpark till around 3PM, when kids were starting to wear out and get a bit pink. Then we headed on home.
I got a bit more coding in, and made simple dinner: hot dogs, baked beans, mac and cheese. I also worked for a while setting myself up to contribute to an open-source Rails project, another step towards raising my profile in the community.
Kids went to bed with no fuss (not surprising as they wore themselves out), and I managed some weightlifting before plopping myself.
