Yardwork

Thomas was up and awake at 5AM, so it was time for me to get up again. We spent a bit of time outside looking at the garden pretty early in our morning – he likes to come out and help me get the paper. I spent a reasonable amount of time outside today, between watering plants and doing a touch of weeding and mowing more of the lawn. There was also a trip to Lowe’s in there somewhere to buy a few odds and ends. All very suburban.

The rest of the time I was working at the computer, trying to get a few more billable hours in for the week. I’m going into Monday with the decks largely cleared, and hoping that my current major client has some more for me to do.

For dinner, I made flank steak, rice, and butter beans. Everyone likes the skewered broiled flank steak, so it was a nonconfrontational meal.

After dinner, we let the kids run around the yard for a while, which led into a round of pre-bedtime baths.
