Field Trip
I was up at 5:30 and got down to writing almost immediately. I fed the kids as they got up, and then we did only one class (our current events look at the BBC photo page). That’s because this was field trip day. Mid-morning, when everyone was awake and dressed and I had the essential work done for the day, we headed over to Angel Mounds, our local native American site. It just happens to tie into the work that Kayla is doing in history right now, so it was a good time to visit. We took in the museum, and then strolled around the grounds and talked about history and archaeology. It was fun – the place is reasonably well explained, though some of the museum displays are clearly suffering from lack of funds for upkeep.
After that, we all drove over to Owensboro and picked up my revived Mac Book Pro (which just needed to have its RAM replaced) and then had lunch at Shoneys. By the time we got home it was 3PM and the kids were all worn out, but they had a good time.
I spent the rest of the day trying to do a bit of work, with mixed success. Dinner was pizza, as I didn’t feel like taking much of a break to cook.
After I had the kids in bed, I did some more exercise. I’ve reached the point of moving from the beginning to the intermediate set of routines in the book I’m using, and today was all about midsection and lower back – places where I don’t actually have any appreciable muscles. So I kept the weight low and was careful, and got through, though I was definitely ready for a hot bath and collapse in bed by the time I was done.
