Working Weekend
Thomas was up at 5AM this morning, so I joined him. He had another resting day, but he’s clearly feeling much better and I think we can safely pronounce him well, though he’s enjoying the attention that comes with being sick. I was in some pain today from what appears to be a pulled muscle in my back and matching one in my chest. Not sure whether I overdid it with the weightlifting last night or what; I slept fine but was hurting not long after I got up.
Otherwise life went on pretty much as usual. Dana and Adam spent the morning at karate class while I dug into some deployment stuff for the project she has going live at the end of the month. I also did a bunch of directly billable work for other clients. This is looking like one of those weekends where I get some work done because fewer people bother me than during the week.
I had been planning to smoke a beef brisket today, but the weather was threatening. So I froze the brisket in a bag along with its marinade, and ended up making burgers instead – on the grill, because the threatened thunderstorm never actually arrived.
I was pretty pooped by bedtime. Fortunately all four kids went to bed easily tonight, and I was able to crawl in myself.
