Lots of Code
I slept in till almost 6 – that’s becoming luxury with all these early-bird children around. We were planning to go back to Holiday World today, so we planned a no-school day. Unfortunately, as things turned out, we canceled the outing. Some of the kids were behaving very poorly, and then on top of everything else the rain arrived. We’ll go next week.
Instead, I spent the bulk of the day writing code for the big project. Most of that was updating a codebase from Rails 1.2 to Rails 2.0, which went pretty smoothly although there were a few patches where I ran into trouble. Still by the end of the day I checked in a satisfactory amount of work.
For dinner, I made jambalaya with fruit. I had planned over-cooked broccoli, but I stupidly forgot to add the liquids to the pot and so ruined it.
After dinner the kids were hog-wild – this is what happens when none of them nap – and I ended putting them to bed a bit early and then doing my lifting for the night.
