Drenched
Today, it seemed, was all about the rain. It was pouring when I took the campers in to the zoo, and it got worse later in the day. I stopped on the way home and picked up a few odds and ends at WalMart, including a new bookcase. After driving Adam and Kayla in, I came back home and worked for a few hours. Then the rest of us had a light lunch, and headed back to the zoo. It was supposed to be the afternoon when the campers presented what they’d done, but between a bad sound system and interruptions from the tram and kids who didn’t really want to sit still, it was a complete disaster. Well, I guess some of the kids had fun, but Thomas and Lindsey were bored and restless.
Anyhow, after admiring Kayla’s pony and Adam’s rat, we all headed back home. Dana napped and I worked while the kids ran wild together.
For dinner, we had cornish game hens, rice, and green beans.
After dinner, I put together the new bookcase and moved some books around, before putting kids to bed. My night ended with a few minutes of lifting weights and then bed.
