Plenty of Rails

I had a tiny bit of kid-free time at 5:45 this morning (the sun is getting up before 6AM, and so am I), until Thomas arrived with his wisdom for the day: “Never sit down in an elevator.” We had a typical homeschool morning: counting and reading with Thomas, watching videos about making a Big Mac clone, the Pont du Gard, and tiger cubs with the kids, a few new cursive letters, addition flash cards, and spelling words with Kayla. Adam is still working on his giant report about Galileo, and learning about factoring equations and solving for the roots. We also took apart one of the toilets to discuss how it works, complete with a demonstration of a siphon flowing between two water glasses.

Then I dove into Rails work and stayed there for the rest of the day. I’ve got plenty enough to keep me busy right now. One site is having a lot of teething pains getting to launch – fortunately they seem to be mainly caused by other people rather than me.

For dinner, I made a casserole of sausage, shrimp, and apples, and served rice, salad, fruit, and green beans. After dinner it was time to run all the kids through a bathtub before getting back down to more coding.
