More Platelets
I “slept in” till 6:10 this morning. At least, it felt like sleeping in. There were too many things on my plate this morning, so we declared a no school day, to the general approval of the kids. I’d just finished my writing assignments for the day when our landscaper came back over with a quote and plans. We discussed costs and plants, and then told him to get to work ASAP. We’re going to put a bunch of work into the yard this year, but it will be worth it.
When that was done, I had time for a bit of email check and then headed out to the Red Cross to donate some more platelets. Fortunately the best of their phlebotomists was there today, and everything went smoothly.
I made stops at the mailbox and Wal-Mart on the way home, then settled in to work. Over the course of the remaining afternoon two rather dormant projects came back to life, and I’ve suddenly gone from “not loaded enough” to “overloaded.” Such is the life of a consultant.
For dinner, I made baked pork chops with tomato sauce, rice, and green beans, along with fruit and salad. Turned out pretty well. I also put a brisket down to marinate for tomorrow.
Got the kids to bed in good order and retired myself. Lindsey was chattery at bedtime but ran out of steam soon enough.
