Less Productive Day
I got up at 5:30 because I couldn’t sleep. This happens. Kayla was up not much later and we got started on her schoolwork. She still stalled a bit today, but overall things went much more smoothly than they did yesterday. I spent the morning working through writing and paperwork, then at lunch we all went out to the front lawn and had a picnic, which the kids enjoyed. We seem to have moved directly from winter into summer, skipping spring.
After lunch, we took the whole family out to pick up the mail, visit the bank, and go grocery shopping. We figure shopping is at least as educational as book work once in a while.
Back home, I did some lawnmowing in the backyard, and then barely managed to get caught up on email before it was dinnertime. I made some fried chicken, corn on the cob, and macaroni and cheese to general delight.
After dinner, I got mired in installing new software and various other distractions, the net result being that I only got in an hour or so of billable work before bedtime. Fortunately there were not any super high priorities for today.
