Recovering

Lindsey was up at 5AM. I managed to get her back to sleep between myself and Dana, but this pretty much did it for my own sleep. I got out of bed around 6, followed shortly thereafter by Thomas and Kayla. The kids (and the adults) are still a bit sniffly, but this one seems to be passing quickly. Adam has discovered malingering, though; he was deathly ill when it seemed to him there was some chance of schoolwork being skipped, and made a miraculous recovery when I announced a normal schoolday.

After lunch I ran out for a round of grocery shopping so that the cupboard wouldn’t get bare. Not that our pantry is really in any danger of going bare, but we were out of things like milk and salad fixings.

I got a bit of work done in the afternoon, and spent some time waiting for one client to sort out their project management issues and assign me more work. Fortunately I have enough things cooking now that lack of work from one client isn’t a disaster.

For dinner, I made a sausage, shrimp and apple casserole and served it with rice and corn. This went over well, amazingly enough, and all of the kids enjoyed dessert.
