Suburban Life

I was woken at 5:45 this morning by a bunch of noisy birds. Bah. Everyone is a bit under the weather – minor congestion, scratchy throats – but not full-blown sick. So we managed morning schoolwork, except for Thomas, who just couldn’t focus. After that we tried to encourage kids to rest, but that’s never very successful.

Dana was out for another doctor’s appointment and some errands in late morning, so I finished up my writing for the day and then rounded up lunches. Then I tried to get some coding done. It was actually a reasonably productive day, with a couple of new features rolling out on one site, but it was broken up into lots of little chunks.

In the afternoon, I took Lucy out for a walk and then mowed another chunk of our lawn. The side yard was looking pretty ratty; the lot slopes in that direction and the grass had been enjoying all the runoff.

For dinner, I just made pizza. Lindsey ate three pieces, more than any of her siblings.
